About Dirk

With over 15 years of international experience in commercial and supply chain management, Dirk van den Hengel plays a pivotal role in shaping the customer experience and commercial strategy at MAG45. As Chief Commercial Officer and part of the Management Team, Dirk leads the commercial disciplines across our global offices, from Marketing and Business Development to Project and Key Account Management.

Dirk combines an analytical mindset with authentic leadership, always focused on customer value, people engagement, and sustainable growth. Under his leadership, MAG45’s commercial proposition has evolved into a structured, international approach built around consultative selling, cross-functional account teams, and data-driven improvement initiatives.

Outside of work, Dirk enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He’s also an active tennis player, something that keeps his competitive mindset sharp on and off the court.

Experience & background

Dirk joined MAG45 in 2007 as a logistics engineer and grew through various leadership positions in project management, solution engineering, and business development. He has been instrumental in implementing complex integrated supply projects for global manufacturers—including multi-site rollouts for clients in the semiconductor, pharma, and industrial sectors.

He holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Eindhoven University of Technology, and also studied Business Administration at the National University of Singapore.
