UK Operations Officer progressing upstream
After 14 years in shipping, Aimee Yuille chose MAG45 for a new challenge and the opportunity to find out what was happening higher up the supply chain. By joining the company, she’s gained both hands-on experience and professional training in purchasing and procurement. Now she’s set her sights on continuing upstream—with a focus on sourcing.
Perfect opportunity
“As an import coordinator, I used to check the contents of shipping containers and talk every day with purchasers. I wanted to experience the other side—to be the one placing orders and chasing up suppliers,” says Aimee, 35, who joined MAG45 in 2018 and lives close to its UK hub in Warrington, Cheshire. “This job is the perfect opportunity for me to expand my knowledge base.”
Alongside her work in securing supplies for UK med-tech customers and other clients, Aimee is moving ahead with professional training. Encouraged and sponsored by the company, she’s already gained a CIPS Level 2 Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations from the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply and is studying at Level 3.
“I love MAG45”
“I feel supported and that’s special. It’s exciting to know that you’re valued and that you really do contribute to the success of the company and our clients.” MAG45 is also an inclusive place, Aimee finds. “We may all have very different backgrounds or viewpoints, but everyone can feel welcome.” Aimee has enjoyed connecting with staff around the globe for an “I love MAG45” campaign, as well as standing in for colleagues in Scotland and the USA. “I appreciate the company for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to progress in my career. I’m a lot further on than I was three years ago. I want to carry on learning and go more towards sourcing—definitely at MAG45”.
